OPA2364 output voltage swing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2364

Looking at the datasheet for the OPA2364 I need to have the output voltage swing clarified.

On page 1 it states that the output voltage swings within 10mV of the rails.

On page 3 under the electrical characteristics for Vs= +1.8V to +5.5V it states the output voltage swing is typical 10V and max. 20V. How can this be with a max. supply voltage of 5.5V?

What is the worst case output voltage swing relative to the rails?

thanks you,

Pete

  • Hi Peter,

I suspect that the "m" is missing before the "V" in the Output Voltage Outptut Swing "Units" column i.e. the units should be mV, not Volts. The furthest the output swing will be from either supply rail when driving a 10 k load is 20 mV. Typical Characteristics graph no. 9, "Output Voltage Swing vs Output Current," will give you a better idea just how close the output swings to the rail for different output current levels.

  • I suspected this, just needed to verify.

    thank you,
