Is it possible to make a Logarithmic Amp with operating bandwidth of multiple gig Hertz?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LOG114

I was trying to contact the customer support for availability of an ultra-wide-band Log Amp, the available ones are operating with max frequency of several tens of MHz. What are the challenges/opportunities we have to build a log amplifier to provide log operation of an input signal ranging from 100MHz to 7 or 9 GHz?

Note this is required to be a log amplifier (like LOG114), not a log detector like the ones used in power estimation and RSSI of microwave or radar systems.

We don't have anything that will operate in that frequency range and its unlikely anyone else has a solution either. This is a difficult circuit design...that's why we don't have one yet.

Sorry we couldn't be more help.
