Measuring the temperature with pt100

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, INA188

Hello,

I want to design this exercise in Pspice and in a real circuit, but I have no much idea about that and I don't know where I can look for information.  I'd like to know your opinion about the function of the circuit, formulas, books, exercises, designs... or something that it can help me.

Tº -> 0 to 50 ºC

Vs -> 0 to 5 V

K=R1/R2=1

Select R for T=25ºC equilibrium

Thank you so much.

  • Hello user4541368,

    I recommend searching ti.com and the web for any technical documents about RTD sensors and bridge measurement systems. I have attached a presentation made by a colleague of mine, Collin Wells, that should include just about everything you need to know on RTD sensors.

    I also recommend checking out TI Precision Designs for any temperature measurement designs.

    I also recommend going through our comprehensive online curriculum, TI Precision Labs, that will teach you all about amplifiers and design considerations.

    As for simulating this circuit, I recommend using our free simulation tool, TINA-TI. You can download TINA-TI here. I have attached a TINA-TI file that should help get you started. You can vary the resistors in the bridge and gain setting resistor (Rg) of the INA188 and see how that effects the output.RTD bridge circuit.TSC
