CDCE62002: CDCE62002 AUX IN PIN crystal selection

Part Number: CDCE62002

Dear TI:

My customer used CDCE62002, and want to select a crystal use for AUX IN. Are there PPM requirements for external crystal? What should we pay attention to when choosing external crystal?

     Thanks!

Regards!

Eric Shen

  • Hi Eric,

There are no ppm requirements set by the CDCE62002.  The ppm requirements should be set by your requirements of the output frequency being generated.

When selecting the external crystal, please pay attention to the expected cap loading.  If the cap loading is between 8pF and 10pF, you will not need external capacitors.

If the cap loading of the crystal is higher than 10pF, then external capacitors will need to be added.

Please also ensure that the crystal's ESR is less than 50ohm to ensure reliable start up.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Rob:
