LMX2594: LMX2594 Single output, Single ended terminations

Part Number: LMX2594

Hi,

For using the LMX2594 as a fixed 10GHz source, only one output - RFoutB, please advise with the following questions:

  1. Is it right to connect 50 ohm pull-up resistor to each RFoutA outputs?
  2. For using RFoutB in single ended output mode, is it needed to connect a 50 ohm pull-up resistor to each RFoutB outputs?
  3. Is it possible to feed the input signal by a single ended 125MHz XO Ref , 6dBm signal level (saturated)? If yes- how is the unused OSCin input terminated ?

thanks

  • Hello Moshe,

    1. If using only RFoutB, I assume that RFoutA is powered down, R44[6]=0 . In this case RFoutA P, M can be left open.

    2. Yes, 50 ohm on each. Please see datasheet section 8.1.4. You can also reference this TI design which shows single ended output connections in schematic and layourt.

    3. For single ended OSC input, best practice is to place AC coupling cap and 50 ohm to GND on the unused input port.

    Regards,
