BIOS-MCSDK 02_00_03_15 does not install properly for ccs5.1.0.08012

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I just installed the latest versions of ccs5 and bios-mcsdk, ccs5.1.0.08012and BIOS-MCSDK 02_00_03_15.

Unfortunately CCSv5.1 does not recogize the products introduced by BIOS-MCSDK 02_00_03_15.

e.g. window->preference->code composer -> RTSC -> products

only shows the basic installation components of CCSv5.1, but no BIOS-MCSDK modules, like imglib_c66x.

The installations ran successfully, first ccs installation and then bios-mcsdk.

I installed ccs on C:\TI\CCStudio_v5.1 and mcsds on C:\TI\CCStudio_v5.1\mcsdk

I had no problems when I installed CCSv5.0 and mcsdk_2_00_00_beta2, this installation works fine and is still installed on C:\TI\CCStudio_v5.0 (just like it came with the Evaluation Board EVMC6678 CD.

My platform is a Windows7 64-bits.

any suggestions ?

best regards

Alois

  • Alois,

What actual version of CCS 5.1 did you install?

CCS 5.1 is still under development, and I'm wondering if you take the latest beta drop (which is CCS 5.1 Beta 2.1, v5.1.0.08012) if this will take care of your issue.

    Dave

  • Hi Dave,

    I actually installed ccs5.1.0.08012 (ccs 5.1 M8.5, Beta2.1, 28. sept 2011) and BIOS-MCSDK 02_00_03_15 (22. Sept 2011).

To double-check; I just tried above versions on another Computer, with same result.

The same happenes when I install a previous version of BIOS-MCSDK, BIOS-MCSDK_02_00_01_12.

Still the same, MCSDK installations are not recognized.

So it seems to me that this behaviour is caused by ccs5.1.0.08012, not by MCSDK.

    best regards

    Alois

  • Alois,

This is an issue with CCSv5.1 M8 and M8.5 not being able to recognized certain target content packages.  This is to be corrected in M9.  The issue was introduced in M8 so M7 should not have this issue.

    John

  • Hi John,

thank you for the precise information on CCSv5.1 versions.

Is there already a date when M9 is released? I Just wanted to know if I should wait for M9 or better switch to an M7 version.

    regards,

    Alois

  • Alois,

M9 is planned for late next week.

    Regards,

    John
