Output current for level shifter devices

Hi Team,

Could you please tell me about the output current which is supported for each device ?

In some devices, I can find the recommended output current range in the datasheet, however, some devices does not have the recommended output current range. In this case, how could I understand the maximum output current ?

There is an output current description in the absolute maximum ratings, however, I believe recommended range would be lower than this specification.

I am looking for a device which could support output current more than 20mA, when level shifting from 1.8V to 3.3V.

Could you give us your advice and recommendation ?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Kawai

  • Hi  Kawai,

For translator device, the output current will depend on supply voltage.

For TXS device, DC current will depend on voltage supply and pull-up resistor. AC current will be about 15mA during low-to-hihg transition and hihg-to-low transition.

For TXB device, DC current will depend on voltage supply and internal series resistor. AC current will be about 15mA during low-to-hihg transition and hihg-to-low transition.

For SN74AVC device, please refer to SN74AVC8T245 'Iol' and 'Ioh'.

For SN74LVC device, please refer to SN74LVC8T245 'Iol' and 'Ioh'.

    Thanks
