Hi TI Experts,

I have the below queries regarding the DPII interface

We want to use an RGB Display with AM625 Processor. It seems MIPI-DPI Interface of the processor is similar to RGB Interface.
Are there any Differences between the two interfaces or can we connect the RGB Display directly to the AM625?
Need guidance to map SoC parallel data to LCD RGB input
Would the above queries be valid for other family of processors?

Hi Board designers,

Refer below inputs for the DPI related queries.

AM620-Q1 does not support DPI interface.

1. We want to use an RGB Display with AM625 Processor. It seems MIPI-DPI Interface of the processor is similar to RGB Interface.
Are there any Differences between the two interfaces or can we connect the RGB Display directly to the AM625?
Yes, it is the same and you can directly connect RGB display to AM625.

2. Need guidance to map SoC parallel data to LCD RGB input

This should be valid for AM62A7, AM62A7-Q1, AM62A3, AM62A3-Q1 and AM62P, AM62P-Q1

AM625: Is RGB output color temperature adjustable?

The customer has two LCD panel vendor for AM62x platform, the default display temperature is quite different on two vendor's LCD. one is warm, one is cold, Is AM62 RGB output color is adjustable in the peripheral?

Or cam it be done by GUI software like QT?

The color can definitely be adjusted through the GUI software and I would say that would be the best option. Inside the DSS, we have settings for controlling the brightness, hue and saturation but involves programming coefficients of the matrix defined in section: Figure 12-506. DISPC VID Brightness/Contrast/Saturation/Hue Equation for RGB Input.

Is it implemented in current Linux SDK driver other programming interface for user to control?

It's not implemented or supported in the current Linux driver but customers can use devmem2 to directly write to the coefficient registers.

3) That is correct. SSC is not currently supported on AM62x. We may support SSC on the PLL that sources the DSS peripheral in the future, but there are no plans to support SSC for any other PLLs.

Spread spectrum clocking is not currently supported for any of the AM62x PLLs.
