Hi Team,

Our customer is designing a Wien-bridge sine wave oscillator and is looking for a suitable op-amp with the following parameters:
• F0 = 3Mhz
• Vin = ±5Vdc
• Vo = 1Vp-p
• SMD
• Voltage feedback

How can we determine the maximum oscillation frequency that an op-amp can achieve, for example TLV2471 and LMH6622? Can you please suggest an op-amp that would fit his requirements?

Danilo,

Take Fo and multiply by 3 for the Wien bridge. Then pick a margin factor based on your risk tolerance, 5 is middle of the road factor.

3Mhz * 3 * 5 = 45 MHz

If it is just an simple amplifier (1 pole/zero max) and the fixed gain isn't too important, the margin factor can be 2. If lower power is more important than final gain a factor of 1 could be ok.
