BUF802RGTEVM: How should we order EVM to have the IC(BUF802) populated?

Hello,

When I asked if the EVM will come with the IC populated or not, I got answer that it will as attached, but the EVM my customer received today has neither IC populated nor IC sent with the EVM. They got a common EVM which can populate the IC and the peripherals if needed. How should I order EVM to have the IC populated? Or it doesn't come with the IC populated at all since the original E2E ticket doesn't have the attached comments anymore?

Hello Kawasaki-san,

Thank you for linking the original thread. In the original thread, my colleague mentioned this is a bare PCB which means that this PCB (BUF802RGTEVM) is unpopulated. We unfortunately do not offer a populated version of this EVM.

The BOM has already been provided, but I can also provide the Gerber files and PNP file of this EVM. I have attached it below:

Thank you very much for your comments. The comment I got in the original thread that "The EVM comes with the IC populated" doesn't align with your comment "this PCB (BUF802RGTEVM) is unpopulated". The comment of "The EVM comes with the IC populated" has been removed before I knew it, so I believe it was found the EVM is unpopulated after giving me the answer. I expect to inform the correct information as soon as you find. Otherwise the customer gets angry with my comments like this time.

By the way, would you please tell me the reason why this EVM is unpopulated? Most of the other EVMs are populated, so the customers can work on those as soon as they got. In this case, they have to get the BUF802 sample and the external parts which is quite difficult in this time. They may don't want to work on BUF802 anymore.

I am very sorry about the confusion here. I see now that the thread was edited afterwards with the correct answer. I will talk to my team, and find out why this EVM is sold unpopulated. I will get back to you by tomorrow.

Hello Kawasaki-san,

I received feedback from my team, and they are in the middle of working on a revision for this device EVM. This is a preview version at the moment, and they are expected to finish and release a populated version of the BUF802RGTEVM in about 2 months from now.

Thank you very much for your additional information.

My customer al least needs BUF802IRGT and OPA140AIDBVT to start evaluation, but it looks OPA140AIDBVT is out of stock now. Do you think you can send me one? Actually, I'd like to get both ICs, so I appreciate if you could send me both ICs.. If it's difficult, I suppose we should order the populated EVM 2 month later.
