TLV2442A: ESD Rating

Part Number: TLV2442A

Hi,

Good day.

Our customer is looking for the ESD rating for the TLV2442AIDR. It seems this information is not available in the datasheet. Can you please help us provide this information? Thank you.

Regards,

Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

The TLV2442A's ESD ratings in HBM passed 2KV and CDM passes 750V.

If you have additional questions, please let us know.

    Best,

    Raymond

  • Hi Raymond,

    Thank you for this information.

    Additional inquiry from our customer:

We also want to know if thisTLV2442A's is ESD sensitive device or not. Means this component (primarily electrical) which can be damaged by common static charges which build up on people, tools, and other non-conductors or semiconductors.

    Regards,

    Cedrick

  • Hi Cedrick,

The charged-device model (CDM) is a model for characterizing the susceptibility of an electronic device to damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD). The model is an alternative to the human-body model (HBM).

TLV2442A passed 2kV Human-Body Model (HBM) ESD rating, which is the current standard. So the device should be protected reasonably well against a typical out of circuit handling by a trained technician.

TLV2442A passed 750V Charged-Device-Model  (CDM) rating (manufacturing automated ESD handling model). Although the figure is not up to the current CDM standard, the part's ESD protection and design did meet CDM requirements back in 2001 and earlier.

You should not see ESD issues regarding the parts handed by human and/or charged device being grounded, see the attached table below.

If you have additional questions, please let us know.

    Best,

    Raymond
