I purchased 2MTR-DYNO but I don't know the wire color and connector arrangement.
Q1: Is it correct that U = red, V = white, W = black, and GND = green?
Q2: There are two 5-pin sockets labeled J4 and J10 respectively. Which one should be plugged into the QEP? Also, does the "^" mark on the label indicate No. 1?
Q3. we don't know what the 5-pin socket left in the QEP is used for, so please tell me.

I would also like to know the notarized inductance and DC resistance of the motor.

Hi,

This booster pack uses sensorless motor control. Here are the answers to your questions with this in mind:

Q1 – Yes, red white and black are the three phase wires that you want to use and connect to the 3-position screw terminal on the booster pack. The order in which the wires are arranged doesn't matter, ie, RWB, RBW, BRW…, any one is fine. The Green wire is not needed and you can leave it floating.

Q2, 3 – The rest of the signals for encoding are not used by this booster pack, and you can leave them floating. They're needed for sensored algorithms. If you're using this type of control, please refer to corresponding user's guide.

The motor's phase to phase inductance is 0.4mH, and resistance is 0.72Ohm according to manufacturer’s datasheet.

Thank you for your response.
I do not want to do a sensorless drive.
Hence the UVW order and encoder will be mandatory.
I would like to know if the output of the encoder is labeled "J4" or "J10".

Hi,

For the motor’s signal pin out, please refer to manufacturer’s datasheet here. You can find the relevant info on page 3.

If you need to use the cables, you can identify by inspection. I suspect the color code matches the motor's, but please verify. I don’t have a hardware set with me, and wasn’t able to find a schematic for the cable unfortunately.
