INA 128 Amplifier

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA128

Hi

I have load cell of capacity 2kg which gives 6mv output full scale for 10 volts excitation. I want to amplify the output to 18mv full scale.

Can any one suggest me a amplifier circuit using INA128 with gain and offset adjustment.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hariprasad,

There are many possible variations in the amplifier design for your load cell. Please look at the most basic circuit shown in figure 4 of the data sheet as you consider some of the issues.

What power supplies do you have available? If the output is ground-referenced, you will need a positive and negative power supply. Possible power supplies might range from +/-5V to +/-15V

Do you have a reference voltage available for excitation? What is the voltage? It is not necessary to use 10V excitation. In fact, one possible way to adjust the gain is by varying the excitation voltage.

What is the resistance of the load cell?

What will the output be driving?

Any additional details you can provide might allow us to better answer your question.

    Regards, Bruce.
