OPA657: positive voltage exceeds the absolute maximum ratings

Part Number: OPA657

Hi team,

If customer use OPA657 as a single supply(+12V) and the DC bias to 2.6V, the positive voltage of power supply would be 9.4V. This exceeds the threshold of absolute maximum rating of supply voltage.

Is my understanding correct?

Best regards,

Shunsuke Yamamoto

  • Hi Shunsuke San,

The Absolute max rating of the total supply for OPA657 is 13V (or +/-6.5V for split supply) and for the input voltage, it should be within the supply rail. Since in your case the supply voltage is only 12V and the input of 2.6V is within the supply rail [ Vcc+ (12V) > input (2.6V) > Vcc-(0V) ], this will not exceeds the threshold of absolute maximum rating of supply voltage
