INA240-Q1: bias current vs supply voltage

Part Number: INA240-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA240

Hello Guang

how is the bias current dependent of Vs of INA240?

I found the dependency of the common mode in the datasheet.

thanks and best regards

Martin

  • Hi Martin,

The supply voltage vs input bias current plot will be very similar to the common-mode voltage vs input bias current plot. The only difference will be that the highlighted vertical transition will shift to whatever the supply voltage is (lower Vs will shift the transition left, higher Vs will shift the transition right).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Thanks Cierra,

    this helps.
    Another question came up.
When using the bidirectional current measurement is the bias current direction dependent of direction of the current measured? Means current is out of the inputs if I measure negative currents?

    Thanks

    Martin

  • Hi Martin,

The bias current direction is dependent on the differential voltage as shown in Figure 9-2. So, the bias current can be in either direction when measuring positive/negative currents. For negative differential voltages, these plots can be extended to the left following the same linear slope.
