LM193QML: Can you suggest the meaning of "R" which is the marking of LM193AJRQMLV

Part Number: LM193QML
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM193

Hello,

We purchesed the part of LM193AJRQMLV many times. The letter R was not included in the marking of the parts I ordered before, but this time it arrives with the letter R, please help explain the reason.

Thanks a lot,

Gloria.

  • Hello Icgoo,

What exact part number were you ordering in the past?

The "R" denotes 100krad radiation testing.

  • The  exact part number we ordering in the past is also LM193AJRQMLV, but there is no letter 'R'.

Can you help to suggest the reason for the difference?

    Thank you.

  • Hello Icgoo,

Do you have any photos of the top of the non-R devices?? Or photos of the labels?

If you ordered a LM193AJRQMLV, the marking on the top should be the same (LM193AJRQMLV).

The non-R devices should have a dash "-" in place of the R (LM193AJ-QMLV). There is not a valid part number such as LM193AJQMLV (no R or dash).

  • Hello Paul,

I think you misunderstood me, I didn't mean R in the part number, but R in the middle of the first line of the marking.

  • Hello Icgoo,

Apologies for the confusion. I see it now.

The ink-stamped "R" usually means that the device was re-screened or re-tested.

In this case, these devices were 100% X-Ray re-screened for seal voids per GIDEP CE9-P-23-01A. This was done for pretty much all CDIP-8 devices within a date code range and not just specific to the LM193.

GIDEP's can be retrieved from this site (requires registration):
