OPA4353: Is dual power supply operation possible?

Part Number: OPA4353

This op-amp is described in the datasheet as single power supply operation, but is it possible to operate it with a dual power supply?

  • It has features (low supply voltage, rail-to-rail) that allow it to be used in single-supply applications. But it does not care; you can also use dual supplies as long as the total voltage does not exceed 5.5 V.

  • Hello,

Clemens is correct. The absolute maximum ratings show the supply voltage difference can be up to 5.5 V. This is (V+)-(V-) =5.5V.

Looking at the typical performance curves, the device is specified at (V+)-(V-) =5V.

Could you share the application's requirements? This part is from 1999, maybe we could offer a device still solves the applications needs with better availability/pricing?

    All the best,
    Carolina

  • Thank you for your clear answers about the op-amp's power supply operation. I now understand it can indeed use dual power supplies, as long as the total voltage is under 5.5V.

Thank you once again for your helpful assistance.
