INA220EVM: Received unsupported part

Part Number: INA220EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TI-SCB, INA220

I ordered a INA220EVM and received a Rev B part.  All the documentation on the product page is for the rev C part which is completely different.  Please provide me with a link to all the documentation, tools, and software that is required to use the Rev B of the INA220EVM.

Thank you

  • Hello Eric,

Thanks for coming to the forum. I hope to have this resolved for you promptly.

Would you please describe the contents of the EVM kit if at?

The Revision History for User’s Guide only make a title change for rev C. It seems like you can use the same software.

if not, the. It should connect to the TI-SCB board.

    Sincerely,

    Peter

  • Hello, all I received was the small Rec B eval board and documentation saying go to the web site to get information.  I don't know what the connectors do or how to use it or even how I should power the board.  No TI-SCB board came with the eval board.  The rev c guide is not valid at all - it did not any cables nor a connector to attach to another board nor any way to interface it with a PC.  I cant even find a schematic for the board which is different then the Rev C schematic.

  • Form the Rev C eval board user guide:

3.7 Connecting External Power to the INA220EVM

The INA220 power supply (VS) operates in the range of 3 V to 5.5 V (see the INA220 product data sheet).

The default jumper position provides 5 V to the INA220 from the USB-DIG-Platform. The power from the

    USB-DIG-Platform can be changed to 3 V using JUMP9.

Another option is to connect power to the INA220 power supply (VS) using an external power supply. In this

case, connect power to the T3 terminal block and set JMP1 to the Vs_EXT position. The INA220 power supply

(VS) operates in the range of 3 V to 5.5 V; do not operate outside of this range.

I did not receive a USB-DIG-Platform.  My board does not have a T3 terminal block.  How should I interface my revB eval board to a PC to use the software?

    Thank you

  • Hey Eric,

Please send a picture of the board.

Also please attach a receipt. You can message me directly the receipt if this works better.

Maybe this is a new version of the EVM that only works with out more intuitive GUI software and complementary host processor, TI Sensor Control Board (TI-SCB). https://www.ti.com/tool/TI-SCB  . However I this seems unlikely.

Please look at the header and any pin labels on your INA220EVM to see if they match up with the TI-SCB.

    Sincerely,

    Peter
