PGA309EVM-USB: Unknown device

Part Number: PGA309EVM-USB
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA309,

Good Afternoon,

I'm trying to use a PGA309EVM-USB to test PGA309 components. I installed the sw, connected the two board, USB DAQ platform and Test Board, powered at 6V and connected the USB Cable.

After pop up new hardware configuratione found and ready, i verified in Device Manager that the device is unknown.

Where can I find the installation drivers? I have a Windows 10Pro

Thanks in advance,

Carmelo

  • Carmelo,

The PGA309EVM-USB uses the HID device driver.  This is built into the windows operating system so no driver installation is required.  I think it is likely that the EVM microcontroller firmware was corrupted.  Can you send me an E2E friend request.  We can connect via private message and exchange email information.  I can then help you to get a replacement EVM.  I suppose it is possible that it has something to do with your computer setup, so if you could double check the EVM on another computer that would be great.  My guess is that the you will see the same response on the second computer which will confirm that this is an EVM hardware issue.

  • Hi Carmelo,

    Please verify the following:

    1) Can you please verify all jumpers on the PGA309EVM and the USB DAQ board are in the correct.  Specifically, Can you please verify/confirm on the USB DAQ board that  JUMP3 is in the EE_ON position as shown below? I have seen a couple of USB DAQs that are configured with the wrong jumper settings causing this issue.  Please see the image below, with the jumpers highlighted in red.

    2)  When installing the software, it is important to run the installer executable with administrator privileges. You could attempt to uninstall the software and reinstall as administrator.  To uninstall the software, navigate to Control Panel -> Uninstall or change program and right click on PGA309EVM-USB and click uninstall.  To re-install the software with administrator privileges, download the PGA309EVM-USB software from http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sboc320 and save the file on your PC.  Unzip the sboc320 folder, and navigate to the setup.exe file.  Right click on the setup.exe and select Run as administrator.  Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

If after setting up the jumpers, and re-installing the software with administrator privileges, the issue persists, please let us know.

    Thank you,

    Luis

  • Good Morning,

thanks a lot, I verified JUMP3 and it was in EE_OFF position. Changed the Jump position and now the DAQ Board now is recognized.

    Best regard,
