INA214-Q1: Gain error factor design for INA214-Q1

Part Number: INA214-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA214

Dear team,

In our datasheet mentioned gain error is related by both internal resistor as well as external resistor. According to the simplified calculation of error factor, how should I define the external resistor?

Below is from my customer's external circuit on the input. Is there any problem?

  • Hi Zoe,

From the schematic provided the external resistor Rs would be R278 and R279 with Rs = 10Ω.

Since the device used is INA214(Gain = 100), Rint = 10kΩ and the gain error factor is around 0.917 using the simplified gain error equation.

We recommend keeping the external series resistance small (No more than 10Ω max) because the input bias current will develop voltage drop across the external series resistor creating additional offset which contributes to overall error.

    Best Regards,

    Angel
