Hello,
I have a problem with part LM361. on the datasheet the absolute max. Ratings Temperature os 0 to 70 °C. i want to change this part to LM161, where i see that the temperature range is a bit higher than for LM361.
the problem is, i can't find the part, either on TI website or any other supplier websites.
can you tell me how i can find that part LM161? or alternative to LM361 with max Temperature up to 85°C?

The LM161 was discontinued some time ago. Not many are left: rocelec.com/part/REILM161H-883

There is no replacement with exactly the same parameters (and a differential output is unusual). What voltage range and propagation delay do you actually need?

Hey Clemens,
tha propagation delay should be less or equal to 20ns and at least +- 15V operating supply Voltage or single supply 0 to 30V

There is no such device. (The search function shows the LM119, but it is listed with a wrong propagation delay.)

The LM361 has 140 ns. Do you need 20 ns or 200 ns?

200 ns or less is okay. the previous value is wrong.

Hello Pierre,

As Clemems said, there are not direct replacements.

Most of the differential output devices are 12V (TL3116, LMH7322 or TL712) or 5V (TLV3604/5/7).

Any chance you can use lower supply voltages? Could the input be attenuated? What is your output swing? May we ask what the application is?

We do have some single ended devices at 30V, like the LM219/119. Could you run two single ended comparators in parallel with opposite inputs?

Hi paul,

the TL3116 was good but the dual supply is a bit low. in our system we have a dual supply between +- 7V to +-14V in this we must add a voltage regulator. is there any other part with the range as that one?

Hi Pierre,

The LM361 is the last of the 30V differential push-pull devices. Full 30V swing differential applications are very rare, so there is no incentive to design a replacement.

The trend now is to lower voltage differential swings as speeds increase. Large swings + fast edges = EMI issues. The newer devices coming out are 5V, or even 3V max.

What are your input voltages and required output swing? What are you driving?

The TLV1822 is currently our fastest, 40V, push-pull single ended output comparator. You could parallel the channels out-of-phase, but it may not meet your speed requirements (300ns) depending on your input drive.
