OPA2333: the signal input pin

Part Number: OPA2333
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV333, OPA333

Dear team,

the customer is curious about:

when they are using the OPA2333 as a comparator, and if the signal input V+ and V- are directly connect to the two voltage source without resistors connection.

they want to know in this case how large the amplitude of Vdff = (V+)-(V-) will damage the OPA2333 is?

Which datasheet parameter is used to determine this amplitude.

By the way, is it related to the description in datasheet page 13?

How long can the V+ and V- pin stand the 10mA?

Best regards,

Hank Lin

  • Hank,

    1.  The OPA333 differential input is clamped to about +/-0.4V.  This information is not in the OPA333 data sheet but is an a related device data sheet (TLV333).

    2. The 10mA limit is continuous.  However, I would recommend setting the current limit so that you are not at 10mA (better margin).  Typically, I try to limit current to 1mA max continuous current.

    Best regards, Art
