ALM2403-Q1: Output current continuous 8-900mA

Part Number: ALM2403-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA564-Q1, ALM2402F-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer Li-Auto is looking for a power op-amp with continuous 800-900mA output for resolver application. Is ALM2403-Q1 able to supply in this application? And do we have a roadmap for this product line except the existing ALM2402/3?

  • Hi Jiahao,

My customer Li-Auto is looking for a power op-amp with continuous 800-900mA output for resolver application.

This is different type resolver, which it drives much higher current. Do you have the resolver's output swing requirements @800-900mA? what is the excitation frequency?

We may use OPA564-Q1 to drive the application, but I want to take a look at the resolver load parameter. It is possible that we can lower the power dissipation with PFC in the resolver.

And do we have a roadmap for this product line except the existing ALM2402/3?

These are not designed for 800-900mA current driving application. ALM2402F-Q1 and ALM2403-Q1 are designed to driver resolver in a few 100s mA. There are two power amplifiers in each IC package. The op amp with the mentioned current rating has to be driven separately from the power amplifiers (similar to OPA564-Q1), since the power dissipation may be too high.

Please contact me via the internal email, and we can talk about the roadmap. This is open support forum and it is not suitable platform to discuss the topic.

    Best,

    Raymond
