My customer wants to use this part to replace a balun to perform single ended to differential and differential to single ended communication to and from an RFSoC. There is an Application brief on your website about this exact scenario, “TRF1208, TRF1108 Active Balun Interface With Xilinx RFSoC Data Converters”.
This seems like an ideal part for what they are trying to do, but they have a couple questions.
- The Output VSWR for the TRF1208 looks very poor. We also purchased an eval board for this part and seem to be seeing even worse results than what are published online. Does TI have a recommended differential matching configuration to help improve this? The Application brief seems to have something like this, but I can’t find a BOM of any recommended component values.
- The Application brief makes note of using the TRF1108 for TX application, I cannot find any other mention of this part. Is it in production? Or can the TRF1208 be used with a differential to single ended configuration.
