Hi team,
My customers is considering using INA281-Q1 as their current sensing solution to sense a bidirectional current to/from a 12V battery. As my understanding, since the input range is at least from -6V to 6V for INA281-Q1. It should be supporting the bidirectional current sensing with proper selection of the shunt resistor? Am I understanding this correctly?
I just write this thread in order to confirm and remove the concern from my customers since the bidirectional current sensing is not written in the datasheet.
BR,
Manu
The INA281-Q1 does not support bidirectional current sensing, and its common-mode range goes down to only −4 V.
Here is a list of CS amps that do support bidirectional sensing: ti.com/amplifier-circuit/current-sense/analog-output/products.html#1498=Automotive&2192=Bidirectional.
Hello Manu,
I agree with Clemens. Please let me know the specific requirements and I can give more detailed suggestions.
