Error message catch screen:  OrCAD Capture16.6.0

PSpice for TI also show error message:

Here is our client design Goals:

Supply(Vs) is 5V

Max Voltage is 18V

Undervoltage threshold(VL) is 6V

Recovery threshold(VH) is 6.5v

how to calculator the resistor divider ratio?  do we have excel tool?

Our modeling experts are looking into this and should respond by our Wednesday.

Thanks again for your support of the forum.

  • Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for your patience. I was able to open the pspice model on the web and simulate just fine. Its possible your version is not compatible. The model was developed with Capture CIS 17.4. Did you make sure to unzip the project and then open the opj file to simulate? Can you also send me your actual project file (File-> Archive Project). With PSpice for TI, you might have to load the .lib file into your sim profile.

FOr your second question, i am attaching our excel calculator for this very use case. Let me know if you have any questions on how to use it. Hope this helps you. Comparator Hysteresis Tool Ext.xlsm

  • Hi, Chi

Thank you for reply, our client use  Comparator Hysteresis Tool Ext.xlsm have one question about "Resistor Rang mode"

100k ohm mode or 10k ohm mode which one mode is suitable for TLV7031-Q1

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

    Thanks,

    Best regards,

    Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

There is no right or wrong answer, it is up to your discretion. With that said, because TLV7031 is a nanopower device, I suspect that power consumption is a concern for your customer. Therefore, I'd recommend the larger resistor ranges as this would dissipate less power overall in the system. We typically see this in low power applications.
