Hi,

I'm posting under the product name UCC28750, but I'm looking at TI's entire flyback lineup.

Is there anything that can hold an overload state for 500ms or more?

The use case assumes that it can be started when a large capacitance is connected to the output.

It would be fine to extend the overcurrent, but I'm looking for a way to avoid increasing the size of the transformer as much as possible.

Hi Steve,

In the TI store, I can't find devices using the sort function for how long the IC can hold up under overload.

So I'm posting on E2E. I'd like some comments on my original question.

Controllers are not typically specified this way. For example, any general purpose PWM controller (UC3842 and all derivatives) operating in peak current mode control, can continue to operate indefinitely in an over current condition, as long as the current sense and power stage are appropriately dimensioned.
