LMH32404: LMH32404 differential output matching to 100ohm

Part Number: LMH32404

Tool/software:

Hello, in our design  LMH32404 drives 100 ohm diff inputs (AC coupled) of ADC  AD9083.

Do we need serial resistors at the output lines to match 100 ohm input of the ADC?
LMH32404 datasheet and Eval board manual give very ambiguous information about these resistors.
Please advise.. Actually, in previous design we didn't have these resistors and it was looking OK.
Thank you!

  • Hi Michael,

For our high-speed parts, we always recommend having these impedance matching resistors to reduce any potential reflections. However, if the next stage is close to the output of the device, which seems like this is the case, you could opt to keep them off the circuit. It is always recommended as an assurance but if this was previously captured and the results were acceptable then you should be fine.

    Best Regards,

    Ignacio
