How much current does the ALERT pin is able to sink. It doesn't seem to be specified in the datasheet

The datasheet guarantees 3 mA for a voltage drop of 300 mV, and figure 37 does not go above 10 mA. There is no reason to go higher; the suggested 10 kΩ pull-up results in 0.5 mA.

Clemens has hit the nail on the head here. Is there a concern of a higher current here potentially damaging the device?
