Request for dice of MPY100 or MPY634

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MPY634, MPY100

Hi, is there any solution from Texas Instr. to compete against AD534K?

In our current production line we are using AD534D dice (obsolete). I found TI device MPY100 and MPY634 have same function, just wondering if you can provide dice from those two device.

we need it  urgently,

Thanks

  • Hello Jing Li,

I will be more than happy to put you in contact with the development team that handles die sales.

Could you please reply back with your contact information?

    Best regards,

    Jose

  • Hi Jose,

I am glad to hear back from you. But I am not a sales, I am an engineer in our company, is looking for a replacement for AD534K, if you have any information about it, our purchasing representitive will contact you.

    Thanks,

    Jing

  • Jing,

The MPY634 is very close in performance and the best substitute for the AD534. The same die was developed as an alternate source for the AD534 back in the 1980's.

Our normal die sales procedures would dedicate a whole wafer for die sales. This is an expensive and wasteful path if only a few parts are needed. How many devices do you need? Is it possible to adapt to the DIP package of the MPY634?

    Regards, Bruce.

  •   Hi Bruce,

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately we need only 10 pcs at moment.

What is price per die if we request  only 10 pcs, and how many pcs per wafer if we want whole wafer?

    Regards,

    Jing

  • Jing,

I believe our die business group would not accept an order for 10 pieces under any normal circumstance. They would want to qualify the sales opportunity as having a long-term business potential to justify the high start-up costs.

There may be some chance that they would have a small number of residual stock from previous business. I will check with the die business group.

Still, the best solution may be to make some type of adapter to allow use of the DIP version of the MPY634. Is this possible? Can you please tell me how these devices would be used?

    Regards, Bruce.

  • Bruce,

We are using AD534K  in a sealed housing with 100% hybrid components and RF FETs. If we change the design, need our customer's approval and requalify.

    Thanks for the help, Jing

  • To request a new bare die offering we suggest going to the die sales page here:

    http://www.ti.com/diesales

At the bottom you will find a request form.  Please download and fill out the form and email it to dierequest@list.ti.com

We will complete a feasibility study and evaluate the business case.  Right now we do not have that die available in small quantities, but would be glad to investigate to see how we can support.

    Regards,

    Mont Taylor
