High Speed Video Amp SN10503DR feedback voltage

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN10503

Hi,

My customer inquiries of SN10503 as below:

(a) For SN10503DR, the recommended resistor Rf = 1.4Kohms

Can customer replace it with 240ohms feedback resistor?

(b) Can SN10503 support flow soldering?

Thank you.

Yap

  • Yap,

The SN10503DR should still continue to work properly with a 240ohm feedback resistor, however the GBW performance is decreased compared to the recommended 1.43Kohm resistor.

See attached graph using a 301ohm resistor from the datasheet:

The Gain Bandwidth Product will be similar, although it should be a bit worse compared to the 301ohm resistor.  Is there a reason for adjusting the Rf away from the recommended value?  What gain are they trying to achieve out of the amplifier?

As per (b), do they mean reflow soldering or wave soldering?  The SN10503DR uses an SOIC-14 package, so if they are referring to the DR package then both techniques should be acceptable.

  • Hi Jeffrey,

    Thank you for support.

They have plan to replace their existing part with TI SN10503. And the Rf setting is 240ohms.

For (b), they are referring to wave soldering. Could you provide Wave soldering profile for SN10503DR?

    Thank you.

    Yap

  • Hi Yap,

I'm currently working with the packaging team to determine if this information is available.

  • Hi Jeffrey,

    Good day.

Is there any new update for the soldering profile (wave)?

    Thank you.

    Yap.
