Calculating External Compensation components for LMP7717 for Unity gain configuration.......!

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP7717, OPA320, LMP7701, LMP7715

Hi,

We are using LMP7717 as Unity gain amplifier. The datasheet says if gains<10 , op-amp should be externally compensated. But the values are mentioned based on Rf as non-zero. Unfortunately we didn't seen this, we used Rf=0 (Unity gain configuration==> Negative input shorted to Output). Is there anyway we can calculate these Compensation values(Rc,C) for unity gain configuration. any tool will be very helpful.

Thank You.

  • Hi,

  • Hello,

Would something like the LMP7701, LMP7715 or OPA320 work?

I did not work on these products, but I am pretty sure that the decompensated amplifiers were based on existing unity gain stable op amps, unfortunately the datasheet and website do not list the comparable unity gain stable part number.

If necessary you may be able use a really large capacitor to compensate this amplifier.   I am not sure this is a good option because I still get a lot of ringing on the pulse response.  I attached a TINA schematic as an example.
