Generate 150Khz using bubba oscillator

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV2474

Hello,

I am trying to generate 150Khz using bubba oscillator. I first tried with the 60 Hz example and changed the values. But it didnt help. I then referred to the design of the following post (http://e2e.ti.com/support/amplifiers/high_speed_amplifiers/f/10/p/229707/816191.aspx#816191) and changed the values of R, C to  R=10.6 ohms and C=100nf. I still didnt get the output. I really dont understand where I am going wrong!!

thank you.

  • Prathamesh,

It's impossible to generate 150kHz sinusoidal signal with magnitude of 4Vpp using TLV2474 because its effetive bandwidth and slew rate is too low - see below.  You may see below that already at around 15kHz the output becomes triangular (slewing) so there is no way you can obtain 150kHz frequency unless you significantly lower the amplitude of the signal or use a faster op amp.

But since lowering the gain causes overdamped response, you must use a faster op amp - see below.

I attached in this post Tina schematic so you may use it for your own simulations.
