Analog PWM Generator 5V, 500kHz PWM Output, TIPD108

Hi,

Hi I am a student and I was wondering if I can use this PWM generator for a solar inverter. And if so, if I change the sine wave input to lower frequency (60 Hz) and the triangular carrier to 10 KHz, will it work? Or should I do some other modification. Also, in the ISO5500 driver how to determine (or where to find ) ION-PK and IOFF-PK not known the Rg .Please advise. Thank you

Majdi

  • Hi Madji,

In theory, yes, you can use this circuit for your project. It should work fine with a lower frequency triangle wave for 60Hz sine waves. You may want to consider different op amps and comparators that are lower power in that case because the fast response time is not necessary. I believe in most power electronics there are integrated solutions that perform the same function as this circuit so you may want to do more research on a simpler alternative.

I don't cover the ISO5500 product, it is supported in the Industrial Interface forum so I suggest you post your question there.
