XTR106: Temperature range of XTR106

Part Number: XTR106

I have read the manual of XTR106, and I was puzzled by the temperature ranges.

Specification -40~85

Operating -55~125

Storage -55~125

What is the difference between the specification temperature and the operating temperature?

I would like to design a loop working between -45 and +70.

So, could you tell me whether the chip works or not. Or is there other solutions?

Thanks a lot.

  • Hello,

The specification temperature range is the range the part's characteristics/parameters are specified at. You can see this in the specification table which notes some parameters being specified up to +85C and and down to -40C.

The operating temperature range states the range the part can operate over, but the parts' parameter values (Vos for example) can no longer specified to a certain value in the datasheet.

The storage range is simply the temperature range the part can be stored in and not get permanently damaged.

So in your application if the part is operating between -45C and +70C it will work, but not necessariliy according to the specifications listed in the datasheet.

Reach out if there is more help needed with your design.

  • Peter is correct - in short, within -40C and 85C specified temperature range, XTR106 will meet all the max/min values as specified in the datasheet while within -55C and 125C operating temperature range, the part will work properly but some parametric values may be outside of those specified in the datasheet.
