Lmp2012: LMP2012 common-mode input voltage

Part Number: LMP2012

Hi all,

The LMP2012 datasheet states that common-mode input voltage is -0.3 to Vcc+0.3. From this information, i guess V- pin of the LMP2012 should be GND.

I wonder that can i apply negative supply to V- pin of Lmp2012?

Regards,

Eren

  • Hi Eren,

There is no issue applying a negative voltage to the V- of the LMP2012. Your lower common-mode bound will shift with the supply accordingly (V-) -0.3V. In general, any op-amp can be operated in dual supply. It was likely specified as single supply because this is how it will typically be used given that it has such a narrow operating range.
  • Hi Zak,

Thanks your message. I mistakenly saw LMP2012QML-SP datasheet and this product datasheet states that commom mode input voltage is -0.3 to Vcc+0.3. LMP2012 datasheet states that (V-)-0.3 to (V+)+0.3. Thus, i can apply dual supply this opamp.

    Regards,

    Eren
