TLV3402: open drain versus push-pull output comparator (which one is lower power consumption)?

I am trying to choose nano-power comparators, either TLV3702 (push-pull output) or TLV3402 (open drain with active low).

I imagine that an open drain output with active low would overall consume lower power, as its output stage doesn't need to be active when in high impedance state.

Is that correct?

    Both devices are based on the same die, with what looks like a metal option for the output type. The difference in supply current is most likely due to the internal current paths required to flip the output one direction or the other.

    The datasheet shows both devices draw the similar currents when the output is high, but the TLV3702 output shows a lower supply current when the output is low.

    However, the Open Drain 3402 may have similar supply behavior. The datasheet only shows the "worst case" supply current (output high). I do not see any char data for the 3402 at the different output states.

    But do keep in mind the current drawn by the required pull-up resistor. It may negate the slight 100nA difference.

    I assume you need the high voltage (15V) operation. Otherwise, we have the TLV7031/41 and TLV3691 with lower supply currents and faster response times.
