INA138: Question of INA138 Layout - RL Placement

Hi Sirs,

Would you pls advise should we place the INA138's RL close to INA138 device or ADC? As we seen a notebook PC's reference design suggests customers to place RL close to ADC side.

Hello Wayne,

Thanks for reaching out on the forum. Which specific reference design are you referring to you? Per section 8.2.1 of the datasheet we would advise that the RL be placed next to the INA138 with a buffer and charge bucket filter placed between the INA138 and the ADC as shown in the diagram below.
