PGA308: PGA308 EVM in Windows 7 or Windows 10

You should be able to download the PGA308 EVM software from here: http://www.ti.com/lit/zip/sboc257.  

I downloaded software from that link and setup. But I am facing this error and also PGA308 EVM cannot be recognized by my PC and it appears as an unknown device in device manager. I tried with XP, Win 7 and Win 10. Suppliers didn't give any driver CD. 

I think there are some issues with drivers.

The PGA308EVM uses a windows-default HID driver and shouldn't need any additional drivers installed. The EVM should show up in Device Manager as "HID-compliant vendor-defined device" with a VID of 0x0451 and a PID of 0x2F90, 0x2F91, 0x2F92, or 0x2F93.

Could you confirm what the settings of JUMP4 and JUMP5 (in the "Address Select" section) on the PGA308 EVM's USB DAQ Platform are? Both should be set to "L" by default, and it's possible if these were changed that the EVM software is attempting to connect to a USB DAQ Platform board with a different address.

Can you confirm that the "uC OK", "3.3V, and "VCC" LEDs are lit on the USB DAQ platform?

I have gone through your instructions and checked. 

JUMP4 and JUMP5  are set "0" or "L" by default. (checked and confirmed)

"uC OK", "3.3V and "VCC" LEDs are lit on the USB DAQ platform. (checked and confirmed)

Still some issues with HID driver setup. I followed this way. Device Manager>HID-compliant vendor-defined device.

I observed that VID is same as you say (0x0451) but PID is different (shown in attached image) and it is not possible to change PID.   

 

Still, this issue is not solved.

The 0x0451 VID is the Texas Instruments Vendor ID, so if any other TI devices are connected to your USB ports they may also show up with the 0x0451 VID.

Based on www.ti.com/.../slla154.pdf, assuming that the 0x2136 PID is a power-on default PID, this device may in fact be a TUSB2136, which is a different microcontroller from the TUSB3210 that the USB DAQ uses.

Can you confirm whether the 0x2136 PID is the only PID with a 0x0451 VID associated with it? As an additional troubleshooting step, can you test the USB DAQ with another USB cable, and with another USB port on your PC? Additionally, if the USB DAQ is connected through a USB hub, try a direct connection to the computer.

I tested it on several laptops with XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10. But each time it was same (0x2136 PID is the only PID with a 0x0451 VID) with direct connection to the computer.
