INA219EVM: EVM software does not find USB DIG Platform

Part Number: INA219EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA219

I have the INA219EVM with “USB DIG Platform”. I loaded the software on the enclosed CD on a Win XP machine. The USB DIG enumerates as "USB Human Interface Device" and "HID Compliant Device". Both have PID=0451 & PID=1234. The EVM software cannot fine the USB DIG. It displays the "USB Communication Problem" screen. I tried tow "Set the address" but that dos not work. I get the same problem on a Win 7 machine.

  • Hello Bob,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments. When you first connected the device to the computer, did you ever see any driver installation messages like in figure 7 of the INA219 Evaluation Module User's Guide? If not, then there may be some issue with either the usb port, the usb cable, or the SM-USB-DIG platform. Does the SM-USB-DIG have any LED light indicator pop up when connected? Have you checked to make sure that all the SM-USB-DIG headers line up with the pins of the SENS009 adapter? Also is the Texas instruments label on the SM-USB-DIG oriented face up or facing the same direction the top of the INA219 test board is facing?
  • Hello Bob,

Were you able to get the EVM to find the USB-Dig platform?
  • Hello Bob,

As I never heard back from you, I presume you were able to get the EVM software to find the USB-Dig. As such I am closing this thread. However, if you still do need support, please reply below to reopen the thread below.
