LM361: LM161J/883QS Part Suffix Inquiry

Hi E2E,

Good day.

We have a customer asking for the old LM161J/883QS product. He is wondering what the “QS” in 883QS means? He is also asking if there is a supporting document regarding this.

We searched TI site and it looks like LM161 and LM361 share the same datasheet, but information regarding this inquiry is not mentioned on the datasheet.

If the Q is the marking on the part, the Q represents the QML certification and S would be the country of origin. However, S does not make sense to the quality team that I have consulted. Can you provide some context in regards to the request. Does the customer have existing silicon with these markings? If so, please attach a picture of the markings on the package and I will see if I can learn anything else.

I have received the following information.

This is a 2003 vintage product, The date code is 0339, so week 39, 2003.

The QS after the 883 means the following ...

Q is the QML certification mark and S is the test site which would be NSC Singapore.
