Hi Team,

Could you help to recommend a power monitor IC for the below rating? Customer is highly concern for cost.

Rating:

.120Vac/15A for UA ,consumer product

. 2-wire single-phase

Thank you.

  • Hello Kane,

Thanks for reaching out on the forum. I presume you mean 120VAC and not 0.120VAC.  If that is the case, none of our power monitors can accept a peak bus voltage of 120xsqrt(2)=169V.  You could divide the bus voltage down, but you will have to make a compromise on accuracy and current consumption as the bus pin has an impedance value that will need to be factored into any voltage divider you may use. The devices that come closest to being able to measure a 120VAC bus would be the INA239-Q1, INA229-Q1, and the LM5056A.  These are not our cheapest parts.  The cheapest parts are INA220, INA219, and INA230.  These will have considerably lower bus and accuracy specifications.  However, they should be adequate to measure 15A.
