OPA2673: Sequence

Part Number: OPA2673
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA2677

Hi,

Could you let me know below sequence is available?

1. MCU GPIO --> A0/A1

2. 12V supply V+, GND V-

Thanks.

  • Hey David,

Really good question? I would guess that a preferred approach might be to set your control lines to the disabled mode for the OPA2673 then bring its power up.

The OPA2673 grew out of the OPA2677 (DSL driven) through some discussions with Intellon down in Ocala Florida - They were a company started by the guy that had sold the original dot matrix printer company and wanted home automation (window shade control) in his palatial horse ranch out there - so this was one of the circa late 1990's starts for power line communications. Pretty much all of the historical and extant driver solutions are CFA based like the OPA2673.

  • Hi David,

I guess I would do it this way:

It additionally offers some HF isolation (R1) between the µC and the OPA2673. By this µC ground noise contamination of the OPA2673's signal ground is minimized :-)

  • Hi Kai,

With this circuit, A0/A1 is always low whenever uC output is high and low.

It seems to be due to pull down in block diagram.

    Could you confirm this circuit?

uC output is high in default and low periodically.

    Thanks.

  • Hi David,

    two points:

    1. According to the datasheet my circuit should work:

    2. If you don't modifiy the code of µC, you need to add an inverter, of course:
