INA230: SMBus Support PEC

Part Number: INA230

From the datasheet:

"The INA230 is a digital current shunt monitor with an I 2C- and SMBus-compatible interface."

Does this mean the INA230 also supports PEC?

For info regarding PEC, I found application report SLUA475.
PEC is basically "derived from a simple CRC-8"...

If the INA230 does not add the PEC to the end of the data transfer, is there anyway the INA230 sends some kind of CRC check with the data, so the host can confirm it received the right data?
