THS4012 / +3.3V for VCC+ and -15V for VCC- Supply Voltage

Hi,

Customer is considering THS4012 for their system.

/their system

・ +3.3V for VCC+ and -15V for VCC- Supply Voltage

・differential input voltage uV~1V(max)

・common mode input voltage 0V

・unity gain configuration

Please let me know whether THS4012 is available for their system.

  • Hello,

     With a differential input of 1V on 0V common-mode, the most positive input voltage would be +0.5V.

    Looking the the "Input Characteristics" Common-mode Input Range on the datasheet, the part can swing within 2V of the positive rail. In this case the max is 1V; since customers max is 0.5V we are safe.

    On the output swing side, with 1Kohm load it can swing to 2V of the positive rail. So again customers application will work fine. If load is 250Ohm we can swing to within 3V of the rail. This would be a problem in the customer application. Do you know whatthe customers load condition is.

    Thank you for the reply. I confirmed customer.

    Correctly, their system are as follows.

    ・ +4.65V for VCC+ and -16.3V for VCC- Supply Voltage

    ・differential input voltage uV~2V(max)

    ・common mode input voltage 0V

    ・unity gain configuration

    ・output is AC coupled(10ohms and 22uF)

      I have attached a TINA simulation of the customers circuit. I am assuming when you say 2V max, that is 2V peak to peak. The circuit shows that there is some distortion  because of the heavy cap. load and not enough isolation resistance. Customer may have to increase the value of isolation resistance, R1 in the circuit. Simulated closed loop BW is around 54MHz.
