INA193A-ep Bias Current Specification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA193A-EP

The data sheet for the INA193A-EP specifies a typical bias current range of +/- 8uA for the Vin- pin.  Is this meant to imply that there is no bias current from the Vin+ pin?  Since there is also no specification for input offset current, this seems like it might be the case.

  • Hello Dennis,
I have moved your post to the Current Sensing forum for further support.
  • Hi Dennis,
IB+ isn't in the specification table because it varies with Vsense voltage for the conditions listed. It is not zero.
When the common mode (CM) is greater than VSupply IB at VIN- is typically about ~ 8 uA and stays constant with changing Vsense but IB at VIN+ pin changes with Vsense. When CM is < device GND, then IB at VIN+ stays constant but IB at VIN- pin changes with Vsense. When CM is between GND and VSupply they both change with varying CM and Vsense. Both Bias currents can be in either direction depending on the CM and Vsense Voltages. Hope this helps.
