DAC904: high DC voltage generation

Part Number: DAC904
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC5682Z

I want to generate a high DC voltage of 10 volt with power supply of 24 volt.

i want to use this DAC to generate the voltage . can you suggest amplifier which can be used after the DAC904 to generate the 10 volt DC.

As per data-sheet dac904 can generate the 20mA current, if i use the 50 ohms termination then transfered voltage will be 1 volt. so i want to amplify my signal 10 times.

shall i use voltage amplifier or current amplifier for it ?

do you suggest any TI part number ?

  • Hi Vijay,

I would like to suggest you look at the reference information that covers a similar topic using a DAC5682Z and high speed amplifiers on the output. The reference design information is located here: www.ti.com/.../TSW3070EVM and the title is called - TSW3070EVM: Amplifier Interface to Current Sink DAC - Arbitrary Waveform Generator Demonstration. Although the design was done for arbitrary waveform generation I believe you may adapt some of the principles illustrated to your application.

    Best,
    Mark
