ONET-10G-EVM: Host board

Hi Lizon,

Yes, the ONET-10G-EVM comes with the 10G SFP+ module and the Host board as well. The only parts that the customer needs to have separately are the TOSA and ROSA which must be soldered to the SFP+ module (TI does not provide the TOSA, ROSA parts).

The ONET-10G-EVM is available for purchase by itself. It has been designed to demonstrate the optical performance of the ONET1151L laser driver, the ONET8551T high gain Transimpedance Amplifier (TIA) and the ONET1151P Limiting Amplifier and comes with both the ONET1151L and ONET1151P devices in it, so you don't have to purchase the ONET1151L-evaluation board along with this kit.

When I follow this link www.ti.com/.../ONET-10G-EVM and purchase the product for listed price of $649.00, do I get only the SFP+ host board or do I get both SFP+ host board and the SFP+ transceiver module? If this is not the correct link to purchase the SFP+ host board only, could you please send me the correct link.

Also, does this SFP+ host board work with any SFP+ transceiver module or is it strictly for ONET1151 based products?

Hi Lizon,

That is the correct link - Once you order the product listed in it, you should get both the SFP+ module as well as the Host board with the kit.

The Host board works only with the SFP+ LR module that is sent along with this kit, because the module contains the TI's ONET1151L, ONET1151P devices that this reference design is designed to demonstrate.
