THS4131: What different between Thermal Information and Dissipation Ratings

Hello,

My customer questioned what different between Thermal Information and Dissipation Ratings.

When I checked datasheet, based on D package, θJA is 97.5 and RθJA is 114.5. Why these are different?

    Hi,

    The thermal information table gives the generic information for the packaged part without considering any other factors. The Dissipation ratings gives the values when measured on a JEDEC high-K pcb. You can read more about the differences in the thermal metrics and a good explanation of theta JA in this application report.
