TLV9001: Can the TLV9001 DCK package replace the LMV321IDBVR?

Part Number: TLV9001

Hi Team,

Customer would like to use  TLV9001 replace the  LMV321IDBVR. They prefer to TLV9001 due to new feature of  "Internal RFI and EMI Filter"

   But I found TLV9001 SOT-23 is not pin2pin with LMV321IDBVR. Waht's more, TLV9001 SC70 is pin2pin with LMV321IDBVR but the size is smaller

than LMV321IDBVR. Do you think  if TLV9001 DCK package can replace the  LMV321IDBVR? If not, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

    Hello Eggsy,

That is a solid choice for a replacement part. We like to hear the customer is moving to a newer product.

The DCK is a little smaller, but has the same pin layout. Where in the design process is the customer?

Depending on how flexible the customer is, there are a couple of options:

Option 1: If you are doing a board revision, we would recommend you just adjust the board slightly to account for the smaller package and the different pin dimensions.

Option 2: There is also the possibility of "second sourcing." This involves adjusting the board to accommodate both package sizes. This way, the customer could use either package in the same spot on the board. Since the packages you are comparing have the same pinout but slightly different sizing, this method might work quite well.

Here is a link to TI collateral describing how second sourcing works: www.ti.com/.../slyt744.pdf

Please let us know if we can help you in any other way.

    Regards,
    Daniel
